Program Year:
2005
Program Description:
Funds from the Foundation are used to enrich research and teaching through support for equipment, facilities, stipends, and basic research projects in science and engineering in undergraduate college programs. The Foundation also supports and encourages multidisciplinary projects and multi-college cooperative science ventures. In addition, a few grants are made each year to support exceptional undergraduate projects in liberal arts fields. Past grants have focused on faculty-student research, strengthening foreign language programs, and incorporating new instructional technologies into the liberal arts curriculum.
Program Restrictions:
No funds are available for operating expenses, deficit reduction, general administrative expenses, endowments, conferences or seminars, fund-raising events, or to individuals. The Foundation can only respond to central priorities as identified and submitted by the institution's chief executive officer. Most colleges and universities have official liaisons in the central development office through whom all applications are coordinated.
