Program Description:
The Campbell Foundation was established as a nonprofit private foundation in 1986 by the late Richard Campbell Zahn. It was Mr. Zahn's wish that his foundation support other nonprofit organizations conducting clinical research into the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS, and related conditions and illnesses. The focus of the Campbell Foundation's funding lies in alternative, nontraditional avenues of research. Our Board of Directors remains dedicated to pursuing Mr. Zahn's original goals. 1995 was the Foundation's first year of substantial funding.

    Grant Application Procedures:

    All grant proposals being submitted to the Campbell Foundation must include the following:

    1. The legal name, address and telephone number of the organization and the name of a representative who can be contacted by telephone.

    2. Project title.

    3. Lay-language abstract of research plan.

    4. One-sentence description of intended research.

    5. Technical narrative of the intended research.

    6. A copy of the principal investigator's Curriculum Vitae and a summary of previous HIV/AIDS projects in which you have been involved.

    7. Project budget -- detailed budget of the project justifying how the requested funds would be spent.

    8. The specific amount being requested from the Campbell Foundation.

    9. Other sources of funding, if joint. List of other sources of funding for this project (including funds received and funds under consideration).

    10. Your organization's most recent audited financial statement and operating budget.

    11. A copy of the most recent letter of exemption from Federal Income Tax under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code.

    12. Disposition of research results and information-sharing intent.

    13. Completed Campbell Foundation "Conflict of Interest" Form.
