The U.S. Army Research Office (ARO) together with the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization (JIEDDO) announces the availability of the Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) No. W911NF-07-R-0008 for the detection of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). ARO is soliciting proposals from degree-granting universities in conjunction with government laboratories and/or industry partners to invent, explore, and evaluate new approaches for detection of explosives. Proposals are sought in one category only: Standoff Detection of Explosive Threats.
